Blogging

Well I have meant to blog for quite a while now and well.... I just haven't been motivated. I have however planted! Last year I didn't plant my tomatoes until July 14th? I think that was the date. Anywhoo this year I planted in June. And I think I have doubled all my plants. I now have 8 tomato plants growing... I think? Plus I have already eaten one of my tomatoes! Yeah that's right. It has been a week past when I planted last year. And I have already eaten a tomato. And we are not talking a cherry here. We are talking about a Caspian Pink tomato. A huge, luscious tomato that made 4 tomato sandwiches... OMG they are SOOOO good! I don't know how I lived before these delectable sandwiches... they just... Melt... yup melt in your mouth. I want one right now!

Oh yes I should mention the other things I have planted this year... Green Bell Peppers, Jalapeno, Sweet Basil, and Cilantro. FYI I hate Cilantro. I don't like it one bit. But my honey wanted it.

AHHHHHH Aphids!

So I have been having a some leaves turn brown. And I knew that I had some sort of bug but could never find it. Well today after work as I was putting my squished banana and other banana peel into my compost I looked at my beautiful tomatoes and noticed little pinkish brownish bugs. YUP! I found them And then I looked on the internet and determined that they are Potato aphids! Oh gees. Do I spray them with something? Can I not grow my tomatoes there next year? Oh I just don't know what to do!

WE HAVE FLOWERS!

So I have been bad not blogging. But I tell myself its ok... bc no one is reading this. Its just a way for me to put up my thoughts.

So Lets see... Ohhhh I was soooooo excited bc last Wednesday which was July 30th... We had little flowers blooming on my tomato plants! At least I think it was last Wednesday. So now 4 of my little plants have grown little yellow flowers... except for the Micado Violettor. My friend joked that it isnt ready to bloom bc its so warm out... And its a Russian tomato... ha ha ha?

So yes this was all very exciting and I kept meaning to write about it.. but it was a wordless wednesday and I was just like. DUDE! I cant just put a picture up! So I didnt put up anything. Speaking of pictures I still need to upload those thingies.
I also have plantlife that I am not sure of what it is... And was hoping a poor soul would come along and identify them.

Ahhhh yes. I found out last Friday that we have voles in our yard. Yup Voles! Not moles. I did not mistype V-O-L-E-S. Is my grass/garden ruined? Ok time to pull some more weeds. Yup I already pulled weeds for an hour... I should go back at it.

Good Riddance Weeds!

Well I got off my lazy bum and went outside to pull some weeds. When I went out to my lil shed I noticed.... MY MISSING CAMERA CASE! Yeah!!!!! Oh man I am so excited. I was so upset that I couldnt find it! But now I have it again.... safe and sound. Although I could have sworn that I had looked in the shed the day it was missing... hmmmm magical creatures comming to take care of me? Maybe some faeries? Well I dunno why they would come to my yard. It looks. Well it looks bare. One of these days I will try again to upload the photos and not just a shortcut to them and then delete them off my camera.

So lets see. Yup I pulled weeds. I pulled the rest of the thistle weeds. I think? I think there are little sprouts among the mess and I will look for them at a later date. But I did pull the rest! Yay!

I was also looking at my day lillies. At least I think they are day lillies. I dont know. I know what snap dragons look like and pansies. But i dont have those. I just have what I think are day lillies and some decorative grass. So as I was pulling the weeds and I looked at my lillies I noticed alot of weed seeds. They were entangled in the lillies and they also had alot of deadness. So I was kinda running my fingers through the leaves of the lillies and trying to get the weed seeds and the brown leaves. Are you supposed to do this? Heck if I know. I figured it couldnt hurt to pull the dead leaves off. Right? I however didnt want to thin out the dead decorative grass. I dunno if its supposed to look like that or not. And I just wanted to focus on my lillies. I mean I remember my mom would grow silver dollars. At least I think thats what they were called. And they were really pretty when they were done and all dried out.

Other thought. We SOOOOOO have chipmunks in our yard. Especially in the front. Thats what the wierd brown lines are from. Its the path they take from one hole to another. Is having chipmunks good or bad? I mean for Donald they were bad. But what about for me? Are they going to try to eat my tomatoes? That is if they ever grow....
OHhhhhhh last night I saw 2! Yes 2! Rabbits by my tomatoes! I ran out there and shoed them off.

Weeds Weeds WEEDS!

Well I went outside to get the mail. And I was like hmmmmm... the weather is nice. Ohhh no! There are weeds in my lawn. AGAIN!

So I decided to pull weeds. Yes indeedy do. I pulled and pulled and pulled some more. Then I stopped when my 30 gal bag was full! I have to admit that using that bag helped alot. It was soooo much easier then using small little brown paper bags!

And I was going to post my pictures of before. Including my garden its first day and all kinds of stuff... but wouldnt you know it. I messed up transfering them over. And so now they are gone forever. FOR EV ERRRRRRR.

But later when I have the strength I will show the pictures I took today!

Rain! Rain!

So I have read some other peoples blogs and they always say how excited they are when it rains. Well since my bubba and I bought this house we have looked at rain in a positive light. It watered the grass. Which we dont want to do. There is just way too much of it! Plus we dont own a sprinkler.

Well now I have my lil tomatoe plants. And they too enjoy the rain! Well at least I hope they do. Although I think it was Saturday morning. I just couldnt sleep! The rain woke me up and it was raining so hard I was scared for my little tomatoe plants. Would they break? They were in shock as it was... they didnt need this rough storm. But my tomatoes made it through. I was also excited when it rained yesterday. But then stopped around 12ish. Just in time for my plants to get their sun. It was just the right time. Rain in the morning... sun on my plants in the afternoon. Ahhhhh rain.

I Have Been Bad. Very Very Bad.

Ok. So last night my bubba (fiance) and I went to a big box and we bought me a new watering can !!!! YEAH! And.... some miracle grow for my tomatoes. Look I am scared that I just planted them way too late! They were tall but skinny! They had really thick plants there... but I just couldnt decide if I should risk planting more and my heart breaking when those too would fail and die.

So I did it... I used miracle grow. Dont hate me!

After that I did work on my weeds for an hour. However I was done after that. I felt so sick and had such a horrible headache. Eck!
